Walther’s storied history spans more than a century. Founded by Carl Walther in 1886, the company has manufactured firearms in Germany for over 100 years. The Q5 Match was released in 2018 specifically designed for competitive shooting. It is is a polymer-framed, striker-fired 9mm pistol with a trigger that is one of the best you’ll find on any striker-fired pistol. Walther is known for ergonomics and excellent triggers, and that fame continues with the Q5 Match. It comes with three sizes of grip backstraps for a proper fit that allows you to tune your grip. The comparatively long sight radius makes for greater accuracy and the slide cuts and ports removes weight, thereby reducing the recoil impulse. The pistol is ready to accept various red-dot optic mounts, and the result is a very shootable and accurate system right out of the box. A modern work of art in its own right, the slide is outfitted with features previously found only on custom handguns. It is ported and optic ready, with LPA sights as well as front and rear serrations.  Walther’s superior accuracy is quickly realized when shooting thanks to the 5” barrel with polygonal rifling and stepped chamber. The Q5 Match features front and rear cocking serrations, an enlarged ejection port, and a grooved top strap for reduced glare. The red fiber optic of the front sight is supported in a metallic housing with a square profile to match the notch of the fully adjustable rear sight. All of these features mean that the Q5 Match is a formidable production competition gun right out of the box.
