When released in 2019, the P365XL had the same fire control unit as the P365 while having a larger grip module and longer slide and barrel. Subsequently, the SIG Sauer P365X 9mm Pistol was released in 2021 with the shorter slide and barrel from the P365 and the longer grip from the XL.

Importantly, SIG added an optics cut. SIG produced a micro-red dot optics system, the ROMEOZero, to increase shooting range and accuracy.

Very Popular SIG Sauer P365 Pistol: Little Brother to the P320

In 2018, SIG introduced the P365 as a brand-new concealed-carry micro-compact handgun with a striker firing system nearly identical to that in the P320. Overall, this handgun is a polymer-framed, striker-fired, modular subcompact pistol chambered in 9mm for concealed carrying. Furthermore, the new P365  was the size of a Glock G43, but held four more rounds.

Later, the SIG P365 quickly became a huge commercial success. Consequently, the award-winning P365 redefined the micro-compact pistol, quickly becoming one of the most wanted firearms. Overall, high reliability, accuracy, and capacity are the defining features of the P365.

SIG Sauer: Born in Europe, Perfected in America

Initially, SIG Sauer began as the company Schweizerische Waggon Fabrik (“Swiss Wagon Factory”) in 1853. It changed its name to Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft (SIG; “Swiss Industrial Company”). Later, in 1976 SIG bought the company JP Sauer & Sohn, which was a maker of shotguns and hunting rifles.

Thereafter, the new company, SIG Sauer, grew to making handguns and their line began with the P220. Later, SIG’s entry in the striker-fired market was the P320 that came in 2014.

Later, the US military released a call for a new handgun to replace the Beretta M9 model. In 2017 the P320 won the United States Army’s XM17 Modular Handgun System competition to provide sidearms to the US military. Also, one-third of law enforcement in the United States used SIG firearms. Undeniably, this great history of firearms manufacturing set the stage for the SIG Sauer P365X pistol & ROMEOZero optic.
