In summary, CZ introduced the 75 pistol in 1975 as a semi-automatic weapon. Initially, it was one of the original “wonder nines” and features a staggered-column magazine, all-steel construction, and a hammer forged barrel.

Thereafter, CZ distributed the 75 SP-01 and other 75 models  throughout the world. Later, CZ  introduced  other CZ 75 models like a compact version. Thereafter, the PCR was introduced for law enforcement use- PCR stands for ‘Police Czech Republic.’

Initially, CZ firearms production commenced in 1937 and focused on both military and civilian arms. Thereafter, CZ made aircraft machine guns, pistols and small-bore rifles, but during WWII Germany occupied the plant and forced it to produce and repair military arms. Later, the plant returned to military and civilian arm production.

Later, CZ reorganized in 1950 into a separate state enterprise. Subsequently, CZ’s parent group, CZG, acquired a 100-percent stake in the historic Colt’s Manufacturing Company in 2021.
