Beretta Joins the US Army!
After a competition for a new sidearm in 1985, the US military replaced the .45 ACP M1911A1 pistol with the Beretta 92FS and called it the M9. Subsequently, Baretta sold over 600,000 M9s to our military.
The Beretta M9A4 9mm Pistol: A Classic
Currently, despite no longer being the US military sidearm, the Baretta M9 remains a very popular gun. Above all, after over 25 years serving the US military, many think that the M9 is the best tactical pistol.
In conclusion, as one of the classic 9mm handguns of the 20th century, the Beretta M9 is very reliable, battle proven, accurate, and sturdy. Later upgraded as the M9A1 in 2006, it added a one-slot Picatinny rail for mounting accessories, backstrap checkering, and a beveled magazine well for easier reloading.
Subsequently, the pistol was updated as the M9A3 with a 3-slot Picatinny rail, Flat Dark Earth finish and 17-rd magazine. Beretta updated the M9 design in 2014 to the M9A4 by adding factory optics cuts on the top of the pistol’s slide. Beretta’s M9A4 webpage says that you can get many optics plates.
Beretta 92 Series of Pistols
Unquestionably, the Beretta M9A4 Pistol is based on the M1951. Initially, this pistol was made in the 1970’s with the DA/SA design of the Walther P38 and a double stack magazine.
Subsequently, Beretta made the Beretta 92. Overall, this pistol has the open slide, grip angle, and look of the M1951 with the DA/SA design of the P38 and the locking blocks from both pistols. Following this, Beretta made the 92FS as an upgrade of the Beretta 92 with a locked breech and open slide design similar to that of the Walther P38.
Beretta Has Been Making Firearms for Over Five Hundred Years
Initially, Beretta was founded in the 16th century and is the oldest active maker of guns in the world. As a result, its guns are used around the world and Beretta has made guns for every major European war. In conclusion, this long history of gun manufacturing set the stage for the Beretta M9A4 Pistol.
